What Happens During A Physical Therapy Session?
During a session, we assess your condition and guide you through exercises and treatments designed to improve mobility and reduce pain. Depending on your needs, this may include manual therapy, stretching, strengthening exercises, and other techniques. In your initial session, we will evaluate your condition and determine the best possible treatment for you. Each subsequent session is adjusted based on progress and goals.
How Long Does It Take To See Results From Physical Therapy?
Results vary depending on the condition, severity of symptoms, and consistency of treatment. Some patients notice relief after a few sessions, while others require longer-term care. Regular visits and following recommendations at home can help speed up progress.
Can Physical Therapy Help After Surgery?
Yes, physical therapy plays an important role in recovery after surgery. It helps restore movement, rebuild strength, and prevent stiffness. Whether you are recovering from joint surgery, spinal procedures, or other medical treatments, we can develop a plan that supports healing and improves function.
Is Physical Therapy Only Beneficial For Reducing Pain From Injuries?

FDA Approves Back Pain Relief Medication
In a landmark decision, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a new painkiller, Suzetrigine (marketed under the brand name Journavx), offering hope to millions of Americans suffering from chronic pain. This groundbreaking medication is designed to target nerve-related pain with fewer side effects compared to traditional opioids. For individuals struggling with debilitating back pain, this development could be life-changing.
However, managing chronic pain often requires a comprehensive approach that combines medical treatment with specialized care. This is where a trusted Glen Burnie, MD back pain doctor and multidisciplinary practices like Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic can play a pivotal role in providing relief and improving quality of life.
The Promise Of Suzetrigine (Journavx)
Suzetrigine represents a significant advancement in pain management. Unlike opioids, which carry a high risk of addiction and side effects, Suzetrigine works by selectively targeting nerve pathways responsible for transmitting pain signals. Clinical trials demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing chronic pain, particularly in patients with conditions like sciatica, diabetic neuropathy, and post-surgical pain. For those suffering from persistent back pain, this new medication could offer a safer and more effective alternative to traditional painkillers.
However, while Suzetrigine is a promising tool, it is not a standalone solution. Chronic back pain often stems from a variety of underlying causes, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or musculoskeletal imbalances. Addressing these issues requires a holistic approach that goes beyond medication. This is where the expertise of a back pain doctor becomes essential.
The Role Of A Back Pain Doctor In Comprehensive Pain Management
A back pain doctor specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions that affect the spine and surrounding structures. At Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic, patients have access to a team of skilled professionals who utilize evidence-based treatments to address the root causes of pain. Our approach often includes a combination of chiropractic care, physical therapy, and non-invasive interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
For example, a patient with chronic back pain might benefit from spinal adjustments to improve alignment, therapeutic exercises to strengthen supporting muscles, and lifestyle modifications to prevent future injuries. By combining these therapies with innovative treatments like Suzetrigine, a back pain doctor can create a personalized pain management plan that maximizes relief and promotes long-term healing.
