Chiropractic Care After Your Accident
A wrong-way vehicle crash on a Southern California highway early Wednesday morning killed at least one person and injured nine others. The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred on the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 near the Ontario Mills shopping center at around 1:30 a.m. A Nissan Altima was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver of the Altima was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and eight passengers in the Tahoe were injured and taken to local hospitals. The extent of their injuries is unknown. The CHP said it is unclear why the Altima was traveling in the wrong direction. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The crash caused major traffic delays on the southbound lanes of I-15 for several hours.
Injuries Following A Car Accident
The severity of the injuries sustained in a car accident will depend on a number of factors, including the speed and force of the impact, the type of vehicles involved, and whether the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
If you have been involved in a car accident, it is important to seek medical attention immediately, even if you do not feel injured. Some injuries, such as internal injuries, may not be immediately apparent.
Trust A Chiropractor With Your Care
A Capitol Heights, MD chiropractor can help in several ways following a car accident.
Reduce pain and inflammation: Chiropractors can use a variety of techniques to reduce pain and inflammation, including spinal adjustments, massage therapy, and electrical stimulation. These techniques can help to improve circulation and reduce muscle spasms, both of which can contribute to pain and inflammation.
Improve range of motion: Car accidents can often lead to stiffness and pain, which can limit range of motion. Chiropractors can help to improve range of motion by realigning the spine and releasing muscle tension. This can help to improve flexibility and reduce pain.
Promote healing: Chiropractic adjustments can help to improve blood flow to the injured area and stimulate the body’s natural healing process. This can help to reduce recovery time and promote long-term healing.
Prevent future problems: Car accidents can often lead to misalignments in the spine, which can lead to future problems such as pain, stiffness, and headaches. Chiropractors can help to prevent these problems by correcting misalignments and improving spinal health.
Some of the most common chiropractic techniques used to treat soft tissue injuries from car accidents include:
- Spinal adjustments: Spinal adjustments help to realign the spine and improve nerve function. This can help to reduce pain and inflammation throughout the body.
- Massage therapy: Massage therapy helps to relax muscles, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation.
- Electrical stimulation: Electrical stimulation helps to reduce pain and muscle spasms.
- Stretching and exercises: Stretching and exercises help to improve range of motion and flexibility.
